I haven’t been to a mall in years and found a clean Subaru SVX.

Looking amazing, other than the backwards wheels. Almost certainly a 1992, and likely an LS trim. Claret Mica looks great on these, too.

Claret or Pearl White would be my personal choice on one of these.  The first one I remember seeing and subsequently falling in love with was a ‘92 LS in Claret. Hopefully someday!

Judging by the wheels, I presume there are left wheel castings and right wheel castings, mirroring each other. Someone just decided to put a left and right on each side. I love the extra attention to detail that the manufacturer must take to do that with directional styled wheels.

There are two castings for that style wheel on the SVX. The left wheels have a small “L” cast into the face of the wheel in one of the cutouts. Usually what happens is they end up on the wrong side during a tire rotation, either by someone who doesn’t notice or someone who doesn’t care. It was even a bit of a running joke on the SVX forums.

If you take a long hard look at the SVX and study their engineering and design, you’ll see that Subaru put everything they had at the time into them. This was their halo car; there was a lot of attention to detail that was not seen in Subaru before,  or for a long time after.
